Written on 10 September 1767
"I John Harriman of Pequano[ck?] township in Morris County & Province of New Jesey Yeoman - Being well in health and perfect in mind & memory...IMPRIMIS...out of the moneys so raised all my just debts & funeral charges to be paid... and then if any of my children shall be under eight years old, it is my will & order that an allowance of four shillings [lite?] money per week be deducted out of the remainder for their subsistance untill they shall be eight years old... give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Miriam one third part of all that shall remain after the above deduction... Item, it is my will that my Eldest Daughter Jemima shall have all the things I lent her & have heretofore given her and no more. Item, I further will and order that the remainder of the estate shall be divided into [illegible - ?seven Equal Parts] and that my six sons (viz.) John Joseph Stephen Richard Jacob and David shall equally share in six of those parts. Item, I also will and order that my three Daughters (viz.) Hannah Bathsheba & Sarah shall have the other part equally divide between them Item, And that each son & daughter that shall then be at the age of twenty one years or married shall receive his or her respective legasie or dividen paid in one year from my decease and those of them which shall be under twenty one & not married shall not receive theirs until such time as they shall come to that age of twenty one years or att the day of marriage excepting that shall be within one year after my decease and in such case to wait as above. And if either of the sons shall die under age and without issue his part to be equally divided between the surviving brothers [same for daughters]... Item... my silver tumbler shall be given to my son Joseph and not be sold inventoried or reconed out of his part... appoint my well beloved wife & son Joseph and my well beloved & trusty friend Capt. Job Allen sole executors of this my will.."
